Site investigations get underway

In an exciting development, work has begun on site at the library to assess the ground conditions in preparation for the new building.

Rogers Geotechnical Services pledged their support for the community project during their Business Briefing held in January and recently carried out the first stage of the works.

The expert service pledged by Rogers Geotechnical Services is a significant investment by the company but well worth it as Managing Director, Emma Rogers explains "As a local, family business we are delighted to be able to support this worthwhile project. Community is very important to us, as we and our employees both live and work here, our children go to the local schools, so we all use the local facilities, such as the library."

The Entice Project

We match local students with local business.
Our aim is to help our community prosper by bringing together local business and talented students through an apprentice scheme that really works.

How RGS have helped...

RGS are a local Entice Project Ambassador who not only help promote the scheme but actively use it as a recruiting service for their own apprentices.

Emma Rogers MD of Rogers Geotechnical Services said  “Our local family business represents an unusual sector but is still typical of many of the SMEs across Kirklees. We need an apprenticeship scheme that fits in with us and Entice does just that”. Emma has now recruited two apprentices over the last two years: one in business administration and one in their laboratory facility.

At at recent event at their local school, Shelley College, Emma presented a short talk, encouraging new business to sign up to the scheme after relating her positive experiences. As a result, new and existing employers will offer taster sessions, work experience and apprenticeships. All advertised on the Entice website.

RGS are more than pleased to get involved with their local school and help support them through a number of initiatives.
