December 2011 - During an investigation, we uncovered a number of interesting geological features. It is by no means unusual to encounter either shales, mustones or even shallow coal seams but we do not often discover ferruginous deposits. These are ferruginous mudstones, displaying 2 discontinuity sets forming a rhombus with onion skin weathering. They were unearthed during a relatively shallow investigation and were immediately identified due to the sheer weight of the samples!
